Bois Blanc Island is a Canadian Island n the Detroit River, once known as a beloved amusement park destination Boblo Island. The park was open from 1898 to 1993. Famous for the scenic steamboat rides required to reach it, the park featured classic attractions like roller coasters and a massive Henry Ford-commissioned dance hall. Following the park's closure, the island was transformed into a private residential community featuring luxury homes.
This series does not set out to prove or disprove the 'trueness' of these stories. Rather, it presents the folklore, myths, and urban legends as the story has been shared. The Magician of Boblo is a lesser known legend mostly told by former employees of the Boblo Island theme park. The existence of Smiley is up for debate, though stories of his presence in the theatre are long standing. Albeit none of these stories involve him trying to kill anyone with magic tricks.
